Burnouts Kiama

The first of its kind anywhere, Kiama Burnouts was opened with the intention of offering classic model cars and collectables as well as cigarettes and tobacconist.

At the time it opened, the model car market was booming. The owner wanted to make a statement as a leader in the sale of this product.

The mixture of glass and aluminium/steel effect was designed to give the “mechanical” impression to coincide with the style of product being touring cars and hotrods. The checker plate affect also gives emphasis to “pit lane”.

As with other projects, the design had to compliment the floor size, which was relatively small. To combat this, the glass display units, which surround the store, are floor to ceiling in height and add to the feel of ample stock and supply. The transparent feel is further complimented by the use of racing colours and schemes.

The existing owner has a thing for model cars. His clientele come from far and wide. Burnouts in Kiama are the preferred destination for many enthusiasts and collectors. We are privileged to have been involved on this project and continue to wish the owners the very best in their endeavours.
