Situated just north of Wollongong, Fairy Meadow is an energetic and well populated township surrounded by similar townships, making up the northern aspect of the Illawarra region.
The idea of baby & children’s clothing and apparel is nothing new, however the clients perception that top quality brand name product presented in a modern and friendly setting, situated in Fairy Meadow was the basis of what is now, Funky lil Munkyz.
When conceptualising this store, the designers at Pro Finish looked to the stores owners as the main form of inspiration. Young and exuberant with a young family, this store needed to reflect this attitude towards clothing retail. A store where even the little things are detailed and fun, always reflecting a sense of happiness and cheer.
From the moment you first walk through the door, the store is alive with colours and patterns. From the flooring carpet to the display case. The display window is filled with cartoons and imagery, all aimed to raise the spirits of those looking in. The over sized stacked display booths, staggered in a black and white finish to the oval lush red cushioned seating, where parents can rest with their little ones under a man made tree canopy.
The walls are lined with earthy colours to incorporate the forest theme, including the display slat wall for shelving. The hanging system and supports all reflect the latest designs and incorporate both stainless steel and clear Perspex with colour.
On completion, this store was a credit to the craftsman who produced it. Once the shelves were stocked and the product merchandise, it absolutely came to life. The aim of building a store to reflect its owners, was achieved. The mood is inviting and the intent a success.
